There is nothing more divine
Than this forest I call mine.
There is no better way
To begin a Winter’s day,
Than waking to sunshine
In this forest I call mine.
Peeking through the snow
Casting a coppery glow.
There is nothing more divine
Than this forest I call mine.

The Faded Kiss

It’s hard to imagine
Throwing them away;
I suppose they are dying
With their long necks
Gracefully drooping
And luscious lips
Pursed for that final kiss.
Like silvery desert plums
Aching for one last sip.
It’s hard to imagine
Throwing them away;
I suppose they are dying.
Yet somehow they’re
More heavenly each day.

East or West where shall you go,
Warm sunshine or piles of snow?
Seeking value in a life,
Where to go results in strife.
Making lists of for or against,
Keeps you straddled, on the fence.
Meanwhile time just passes by,
Make connections, say good bye.
So take your time, it’s not a race.
Life will unfold in either place.
East or West it won’t change much,
What matters are the lives you touch!
The Gene Pool

When children grow up
It’s easy to see,
How this one’s like you
And that one’s like me.
He’s got your good looks.
Like me she loves books.
Your nice lovely hair
Is something they share.
While some traits that matter
May not always flatter.
Was that from your side?
Or my Uncle who died?
And when they were teens
I wouldn’t claim those genes.
But now as adults
I’m pleased with the results!
