Haiku

Froth on sun-bleached sand
abundant swells rise like yeast,
uninterrupted.

The Golden Leaf

I dreamed of a golden leaf,

Floating down the river.

Brittle on the outside,

Facing the wind and sun.

Soft and supple underneath,

Drenched in life giving waters.

The work has all been done,

Fallen from the tree of life.

The Writer’s Trance

Drawn each day
To this crystal

Expanse,
Soothed yet again,

By a writer’s trance.
Red bird on a

Brittle branch,
Blue white snow

She does her dance.
And whispers her

Tune, in a colorless
Tree, on a cold afternoon.

Cold Kripalu Winter

Mountains emerge out of
A crystal cold lake,
So brilliant, it almost hurts.
I squint my eyes.
Clusters of powder perched
On evergreens below
The icy blue skies.
Pillows of White
Where Spring beneath lies.

Winter Windsong

Ice builds on the edge
Of glass windows,
That try in vain
To keep her warm.

Wind whistling
Through the pane.
Whispering softly,
It’s eerie song.

Moonstone Beach

Moonstone Road
Deliver me.
Dusty path
To open sea.

Foam, rolling
Salty tone,
Keep consoling
As I roam.

Rise and Pound,
Crash and start,
Eternal drumroll
Soothe my heart.

Moonstone Beach
Set me free,
Faithful friend
Of sand and sea.

Moon Over Pleasant Bay

She could not see
Where the dark
Black night
Touched the inky
Blue water.
The line ignored
Her sight. But,

Suspended large
And low was
The Harvest Moon.

Owning the night,
Like an orange
Chinese lantern
Tempting her to
Walk on water
Along the
Triangular light.

Spirit Wind

My forest breathes with a rhythm that soothes me.

Lush boughs rising as Spirit Wind Moves me.

Ocean breath waves of rolling green.

My forest tells secrets, about to be seen.

Hide and Seek, giggling, whispering trees,

“Doesn’t she know this is all that she needs?”

My forest breathes with a rhythm that soothes me

Lush boughs rising as Spirit Wind moves me.

Nature Time

Earths’ sweet beauty abounds by me;
From a silent garden to a pounding sea.

Friends and family make a home.
But how I yearn for days alone.

It fills my heart and makes me see;
What loved ones really mean to me.

So clear the mind and fill the breath,
No nature time would be as death.
